The audience was convinced that Manuel Villalobos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kay Gamsen was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. 14 minutes into the game, Marco Ravntoft recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Sergio Livingstone. Marco Ravntoft showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Klement Herforth sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Sergio Livingstone came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Denmark's Szilveszter Szuper. But to his dismay, Szilveszter Szuper quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Juliano Curiñanco's late challenge caught a U21 Denmark's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Juliano Curiñanco helped the player get up and apologised. Klement Herforth's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sergio Livingstone read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. In the 26th match minute, U21 Denmark was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Freddi Søvold to maneuver through the defense. Honorato Villouta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. U21 Denmark's Szilveszter Szuper got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 36th minute, Ireno Young got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 45 minutes into the match, U21 Chile's goalkeeper Sergio Livingstone had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Szilveszter Szuper. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

The wind increased when Manuel Villalobos made the kick off in the second half. U21 Denmark's Kay Gamsen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 51st minute of the match, managed to save U21 Denmark from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Szilveszter Szuper in the 70th minute of play forced U21 Chile's goalkeeper Sergio Livingstone to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Juanjo Raymond during the 71st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 83rd minute Klement Herforth shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sergio Livingstone saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
