Spectators: 1028 (Terracing: 772, Seating: 236, VIP seats: 20) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Unndór Takeris started the match with the kick off. In the 4th minute Ahmet Boran Tekinalp shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Baron Van de Goor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 8 played minutes U21 Denmark got a freekick which was hit by Unndór Takeris. Vagn Kildebro in the 13thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Gianluca Buffon, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Baron Van de Goor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yavuz Selim Gulson in the 14th minute of play. The throw-in from Nikki Vesternæs in the 17th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by U21 Turkey's Şansal Can. Baron Van de Goor took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yavuz Selim Gulson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Yavuz Selim Gulson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Baron Van de Goor having to interfere. A sloppy throw-in by Ertuğrul İsmihan in the 30th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by U21 Denmark's Jørgen Eisland. U21 Turkey's Gianluca Buffon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karsten Lund in the 31st minute of play. Gianluca Buffon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vagn Kildebro in the 35th minute of play. 40 minutes into the match, U21 Denmark's goal looked a bit too open when Yavuz Selim Gulson came free, but Baron Van de Goor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Unndór Takeris's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Gianluca Buffon firmly grabbed it by the left post. A collision led to U21 Denmark getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Terri Videbjerg hit a great ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 67th of the match, Isa Günyol tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Baron Van de Goor got in the way and made a wonderful save.
