U21 Venezuela's Jacobo Arnaez got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 92nd minute of the match I Made Prabaya sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Baldomero Sañudo skillfully saved the ball. 94 minutes into the game, U21 Indonesia's Agus Syam nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Baldomero Sañudo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-3. Neither U21 Indonesia or U21 Venezuela succeeded in finding a winner during the second half. That meant the players faced another 30 minutes of extra-time.

With new strength the players walked out on the field for the first half of overtime. Gabriel Corona in U21 Venezuela was the one to initiate the kick off. Hardimen Danuarta came out of the goal in the 99th minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Venezuela's Gabriel Corona. But to his dismay, Gabriel Corona quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-4. The U21 Indonesia supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching U21 Venezuela's performance. The match ended with a win for U21 Venezuela.
