The audience was convinced that Kjell Tingberg's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bryant Reina was relentless in the 42nd minute of the game. Bryant Reina came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by Kind of Blue's Marco Tardelli. But to his dismay, Marco Tardelli quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sebastian Käller in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bryant Reina saved Australia from getting behind. When Sebastian Käller came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Kind of Blue fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sebastian Käller couldn't finish the play. In the 69th minute the ball was on its way in behind Australia's goalkeeper Bryant Reina, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a little luck, Australia's Bryant Reina got control of the ball when Sebastian Käller tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 73rd minute, Ray Hayward ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Wilhelm Galle was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. 79 minutes into the match, Kind of Blue's Sebastian Käller sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bryant Reina narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Wilhelm Galle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cherry Evans, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 89 minutes into the game, Sebastian Käller recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Bryant Reina. Sebastian Käller showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Wilhelm Galle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ray Hayward in the 92nd minute of play. Australia's Bryant Reina played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sebastian Käller in the 94th minute of play. 96 minutes into the match, Kind of Blue's goal looked a bit too open when Edmundson Colling came free, but Wilhelm Galle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Kind of Blue eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
