Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Vykans Vikingar's Faas Wilkes started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With his leg Ronnie Meck managed to avoid a goal in the 3rdth minute, when Vykans Vikingar's Faas Wilkes fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Stefan Belkå kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. Marcus Ekrot showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Balthazar Bär in the 10th minute of the match. Marcus Ekrot took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Torbjörn Nilsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marcus Ekrot made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Torbjörn Nilsson in the 11th minute of play. Marcus Ekrot showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Balthazar Bär in the 14th minute of the match. The supporters of U21 Sweden booed when Vykans Vikingar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jose Indalecio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marcus Ekrot showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Torbjörn Nilsson in the 18th minute of the match. Fernan Berart fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronnie Meck having to interfere. After 27 minutes of play, U21 Sweden's Torbjörn Nilsson made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marcus Ekrot was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Torbjörn Nilsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. U21 Sweden's supporters rose to their feet, but Torbjörn Nilsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcus Ekrot breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. U21 Sweden's Ronnie Meck played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Faas Wilkes in the 36th minute of play. In the 39th match minute, U21 Sweden was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Per Söderkvist to maneuver through the defense. After 40 played minutes U21 Sweden got a freekick which was hit by Torbjörn Nilsson. After 42 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for U21 Sweden! In the 44th minute there was a penalty for Vykans Vikingar. Jose Indalecio stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Ronnie Meck. 1-1. A collision led to Vykans Vikingar getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Martin Mutumba hit a great ball. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Torbjörn Nilsson to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Balthazar Bär notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Vykans Vikingar's Marcus Ekrot. Marcus Ekrot was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 57thth minute of the game Faas Wilkes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but U21 Sweden's Ronnie Meck was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Marcus Ekrot made a fantastic save in the 61st minute, when Torbjörn Nilsson sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in U21 Sweden's zone, Hugo Eden stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ronnie Meck came out of the goal and Hugo Eden tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vykans Vikingar's Fredrik Asserlindh was substituted for Faas Wilkes. U21 Sweden's Dan Mårtensson was substituted for Henning Gulliksson. Ronnie Meck showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fredrik Asserlindh in the 81st minute of the match. Ronnie Meck made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fredrik Asserlindh in the 84th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alessandro Micucci in the 88th minute of play forced U21 Sweden's goalkeeper Ronnie Meck to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcus Ekrot showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ivar Nickov in the 91st minute of the match. Ronnie Meck made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fredrik Asserlindh in the 93rd minute of play. Marcus Ekrot didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ivar Nickov went, in the 94th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score. The U21 Sweden supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing U21 Sweden would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
