Ulises Steven was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Stellenbosch booed when AFC Koolkerke was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tommie Jorna didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 16th minute, one of Stellenbosch:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Stellenbosch. In the 21st minute, Robertinho Carabajal ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Honorio Hori was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. 25 minutes into the match, AFC Koolkerke's Robertinho Carabajal sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Honorio Hori narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Flóki Cabezudo got free with Ulises Steven in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 34 minutes, Robertinho Carabajal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AFC Koolkerke's supporters crossed their fingers, but Robertinho Carabajal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Flóki Cabezudo in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ulises Steven prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Honorio Hori showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robertinho Carabajal in the 38th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Robertinho Carabajal's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Honorio Hori was relentless in the 47th minute of the game. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
