After having played for 3 minutes, Gerardo Beltran managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Stellenbosch's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gerardo Beltran was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Emanuel Ceandro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teobaldo Isias in the 7th minute of play. 14 minutes into the match, TIBURON F.C's goalkeeper Emanuel Ceandro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gerardo Beltran. In the 20th minute Stellenbosch were awarded a corner. Mauro Frutos went to the cornerflag to take it. Carlos Saúl Menem tried in the 21st minute to hit away a contribution but miss-kicked the ball which ended up in his own goal and left an unhappy Emanuel Ceandro a with quite unnecessary self made goal. Result 1-0. Honorio Hori showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arias Baltanas, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. After a rather tough play, TIBURON F.C's Carlos Saúl Menem got a free kick in the 25th minute. Honorio Hori took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mathias Bastos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Teobaldo Isias could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Emanuel Ceandro made a huge save. In the 39th minute, Carlos Saúl Menem hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mauro Frutos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 44 minutes into the match, Stellenbosch's goal looked a bit too open when Arias Baltanas came free, but Honorio Hori reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A hard shot 47 in the game by Teobaldo Isias from a close distance when the talented Emanuel Ceandro managed to make a qualified save. TIBURON F.C's players were relieved. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The audience was convinced that Arias Baltanas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Honorio Hori was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. 77 minutes into the match, TIBURON F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Edgar Nicolescu came free, but Emanuel Ceandro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The coaching staff of TIBURON F.C protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Carlos Saúl Menem had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 79th minute of the game. One of TIBURON F.C:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Stellenbosch:s goal. Flóki Cabezudo made in the 85th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by TIBURON F.C's Humberto Esiquio. Anselmo Gaizko kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. When Mauro Frutos came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Stellenbosch fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mauro Frutos couldn't finish the play. In the 93rd minute, Arias Baltanas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgar Nicolescu in the 95th minute of play forced TIBURON F.C's goalkeeper Emanuel Ceandro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 97 minutes into the match, Stellenbosch's goal looked a bit too open when Carolo Llorenc came free, but Honorio Hori reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. TIBURON F.C's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
