In the 6th minute of the game Mats Ingemarsson made a throw-in which Leonard Christoffersson played forward. Sebastian Sandberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dobri Karatotev in the 8th minute of the match. If Dobri Karatotev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Sebastian Sandberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dobri Karatotev, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Degerfors IF booed when La Cosa Nostra was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dobri Karatotev didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 20 minutes, Dobri Karatotev managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. La Cosa Nostra's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dobri Karatotev was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 23 minutes into the game, La Cosa Nostra's Angelo Eiró nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sebastian Sandberg made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. In the 29th minute Dobri Karatotev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebastian Sandberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dobri Karatotev scored 2-0 in the 33rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sebastian Sandberg, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 39 minutes into the match, Dobri Karatotev notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Degerfors IF's Sebastian Sandberg. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Kristian Brodin to strike the kick off in the second half. The Degerfors IF fans' excitement grew in the 52nd match minute when Degerfors IF's Per Åberg looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 55th minute Leonard Christoffersson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sonny Alén saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leonard Christoffersson's late challenge caught a La Cosa Nostra's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Leonard Christoffersson helped the player get up and apologised. After 57 played minutes Degerfors IF got a freekick which was hit by Leonard Christoffersson. A collision led to La Cosa Nostra getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Ricardo Araújo hit a great ball. Per Åberg who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 70thth minute tested the skills of Sonny Alén when he managed to save the team from getting behind. La Cosa Nostra's Gustavo Severiano was substituted for Angelo Eiró. 74 minutes in the game Mats Ingemarsson did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Wilfredo Laffitte. 78 minutes into the match, La Cosa Nostra's goal looked a bit too open when Kristian Brodin came free, but Sonny Alén reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 84 minutes into the match, La Cosa Nostra's Maurício Mansilha sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sebastian Sandberg narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
