Jonty Park didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from John Aldridge went, in the 17th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Jonty Park stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of John Aldridge's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. 25 minutes into the game, John Aldridge cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Jonty Park was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Manly FC booed when Glasston was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adriano Sansoni didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by John Aldridge in the 31st minute of play forced Glasston's goalkeeper Jonty Park to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jonty Park showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from John Aldridge in the 33rd minute of the match. Jonty Park took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from John Aldridge, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Neville Marsland received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Jonty Park tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Stewart Dollymore hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. In the 42nd match minute, Manly FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pete Wittber to maneuver through the defense. Neville Marsland hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. In the 47th minute, Duke Carberry hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Stephan Belford came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the Glasston fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stephan Belford couldn't finish the play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when John Aldridge stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, one of Glasston:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Manly FC a penalty, 53 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by John Aldridge, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Glasston's Jonty Park. 0-3. Neville Marsland could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Jonty Park made a huge save. Duncan Mcinnes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Phillip Finden's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. In the 68thth minute of the game John Aldridge who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Glasston's Jonty Park was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Manly FC's Pete Wittber got a free kick in the 70th minute. John Aldridge might have been able to make a better finish in the 86th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonty Park. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. John Aldridge ran back to his position shaking his head. Jonty Park took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from John Aldridge, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Manly FC made a substitution. Carmichael Carbery replaced John Aldridge. 93 minutes into the game, Carmichael Carbery recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jonty Park. Carmichael Carbery showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-5. When Manly FC's Carmichael Carbery in the 99th minute got a chance for a shot 99th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Glasston's goalie prevented a goal. The Manly FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Manly FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
