The audience was convinced that Abdelbassir Cestarolli's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leonel Barros was relentless in the 5th minute of the game. 7 minutes into the game, Jefferson de Mendonça cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Leonel Barros was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The crowd rose to their feet as Cestarolli FC's Abdelbassir Cestarolli slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Leonel Barros. That made the score 2-0 after 10 minutes of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Abdelbassir Cestarolli in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Leonel Barros saved Wellington Phoenix from getting behind. Leonel Barros didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Abdelbassir Cestarolli went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. In the 24th minute Abdelbassir Cestarolli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonel Barros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Reynaldo Cestarolli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ronaldo Barral in the 28th minute of the match. Leonel Barros came out of the goal in the 32nd minute to try and stop a shot by Cestarolli FC's Abdelbassir Cestarolli. But to his dismay, Abdelbassir Cestarolli quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. Reynaldo Cestarolli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erivaldo Pernambucano, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Wellington Phoenix's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ronaldo Barral in the 36th minute. The corner ended in Ronaldo Barral almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Cestarolli FC's Reynaldo Cestarolli did a great save. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Abdelbassir Cestarolli managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cestarolli FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Abdelbassir Cestarolli was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leonel Barros breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 42 minutes, João Pedro de Amaral mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Wellington Phoenix and the Cestarolli FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 42nd match minute, Wellington Phoenix was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Pedro de Amaral to maneuver through the defense. After 43 played minutes, Cestarolli FC's Ruy Mello shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Leonel Barros came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Cestarolli FC reached it. If Erivaldo Pernambucano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Erivaldo Pernambucano to make the kick off. 58 minutes into the game, one of Wellington Phoenix:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. 60 minutes into the game, Egídio de Almeida was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Wellington Phoenix's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cestarolli FC the free kick. When the match had gone on for 64 minutes, Abdelbassir Cestarolli put it in 6-0 from a short distance just to the right of Leonel Barros. 72 minutes into the match, Abdelbassir Cestarolli notched a goal, 7-0, to the right of Wellington Phoenix's Leonel Barros. Leonel Barros was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Wellington Phoenix's Anderson Ortiz was substituted for Wei Yao Sha. When the match clock showed 77 minutes, the score became 8-0 when Abdelbassir Cestarolli sped through Wellington Phoenix's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Leonel Barros. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abdelbassir Cestarolli in the 81st minute of play forced Wellington Phoenix's goalkeeper Leonel Barros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leonel Barros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abdelbassir Cestarolli in the 83rd minute of play. 85 minutes into the game, Cestarolli FC's Abdelbassir Cestarolli nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Leonel Barros made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 9-0. Primitivo Cayuela scored 10-0 in the 88th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Leonel Barros, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Reynaldo Cestarolli made a fantastic save in the 93rd minute, when Luizão Castro sent off a good shot on target. After 94 minutes, Gabriel Moscardó mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Wellington Phoenix and the Cestarolli FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 97th minute Abdelbassir Cestarolli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonel Barros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
