Domingo Oihenarte showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind Isótopos V.M.'s goalkeeper Pastor Frantzes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some careless play in the Isótopos V.M. defense, Fred Åkerström kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pastor Frantzes. The Isótopos V.M. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pastor Frantzes should have stopped the shot. 17 minutes into the match, Playa Malvín's goal looked a bit too open when Petru Bâru came free, but Zé Roberto Teixeira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gamus Rocha was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 19 minutes into the match. In the 19th minute, one of Playa Malvín:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Playa Malvín. Isótopos V.M.'s Pastor Frantzes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fred Åkerström in the 25th minute of play. A collision led to Isótopos V.M. getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Gustaw Jaraczeski hit a great ball. Marco Löhr received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Zé Roberto Teixeira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 38th minute, Fred Åkerström made a precise shot to the right of Pastor Frantzes. Isótopos V.M.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. Isótopos V.M.'s Pastor Frantzes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fred Åkerström in the 45th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fred Åkerström to make the kick off. Taribo West struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Zé Roberto Teixeira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Isótopos V.M.. In the 59th minute Marco Löhr shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Roberto Teixeira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fred Åkerström kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. In the 60th minute, Petru Bâru left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Isótopos V.M. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. Isótopos V.M.'s Gualterio Mede was substituted for Domingo Oihenarte. Isótopos V.M.'s Albeiro Usuriaga was substituted for Petru Bâru. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fred Åkerström in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pastor Frantzes saved Isótopos V.M. from getting behind. Playa Malvín made a substitution. Sesuldo Roque replaced Sandu Mândrilă. Playa Malvín's Niva Espellosa was substituted for Fred Åkerström. The supporters of Playa Malvín booed when Isótopos V.M. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Crişan Fenomeno didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zé Roberto Teixeira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Albeiro Usuriaga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zé Roberto Teixeira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Taribo West in the 81st minute of play. In the 85th match minute, Isótopos V.M. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Taribo West to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Albeiro Usuriaga in the 94th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Zé Roberto Teixeira saved Playa Malvín from getting behind. Playa Malvín's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
