Alcorcón's Maurino Serena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Börje Ekström in the 10th minute of play. In the 17th minute Ted Holmgren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maurino Serena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kaloyan Mitashev in the 17thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Maurino Serena, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Maurino Serena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ted Holmgren, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. After 24 played minutes Sundborn IF got a freekick which was hit by Börje Ekström. When A.D. Kalle Askberg came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by A.D. Alcorcón's Erlantz Bermejo. But to his dismay, Erlantz Bermejo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After a rather tough play, A.D. Alcorcón's Emmanuel Otero got a free kick in the 40th minute. 44 minutes into the match, Sundborn IF's goal looked a bit too open when Belo Alvarez came free, but Kalle Askberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 46 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sundborn IF's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Nereo Acosta was slow to take the kick. During this time A.D. Alcorcón's players had a chance to rest. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Belo Alvarez made the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the game, Erlantz Bermejo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. A.D. Alcorcón's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sundborn IF the free kick. A collision led to A.D. Alcorcón getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Erlantz Bermejo hit a great ball. 57 minutes into the match, A.D. Alcorcón's goal looked a bit too open when Ted Holmgren came free, but Maurino Serena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A.D. Alcorcón's Laurin Mangas was substituted for Nereo Acosta. In the 60th minute of the match Sundborn IF got a corner. A.D. Alcorcón's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Sven-Olof Stephansson ran over to the corner to take the kick. Sven-Olof Stephansson made a great header on Sundborn IF's corner, it was just that A.D. Alcorcón's Maurino Serena managed to reach the ball for a save. 66 minutes into the match, Kaloyan Mitashev had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Maurino Serena. A.D. Alcorcón's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kaloyan Mitashev was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. The audience was convinced that Ted Holmgren's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Maurino Serena was relentless in the 69th minute of the game. Sundborn IF made a substitution. Kjell Holmberg replaced Jan Håning. In the 73rd minute Sundborn IF were awarded a corner. Sven-Olof Stephansson went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Sven-Olof Stephansson got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Maurino Serena quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 88th minute Ted Holmgren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maurino Serena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Ted Holmgren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A.D. Ted Holmgren might have been able to make a better finish in the 94th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Maurino Serena. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ted Holmgren ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ted Holmgren in the 94th minute of play forced A.D. Alcorcón's goalkeeper Maurino Serena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sundborn IF's Ted Holmgren got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
