Cyprian Mitus was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience was convinced that Willie Colon's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cyprian Mitus was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. With a little luck, Resistencia Tayrona FC's Cyprian Mitus got control of the ball when Willie Colon tried to sneak it across the goal line. Colombia's Kelemen Astonzas got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the Resistencia Tayrona FC defense, Willie Colon kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cyprian Mitus. The Resistencia Tayrona FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cyprian Mitus should have stopped the shot. Ivon Trullols received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Cyprian Mitus tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 30th minute, Xuaco Fias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Willie Colon in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cyprian Mitus prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 37 minutes had been played when some careless play by Resistencia Tayrona FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Kelemen Astonzas was slow to take the kick. During this time Colombia's players had a chance to rest. In the 39th minute Colombia were awarded a corner. Kelemen Astonzas went to the cornerflag to take it. A well-hit corner resulted in Sansone Poso heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. In the 42nd minute of the match Xuaco Fias sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cyprian Mitus skillfully saved the ball. After 44 minutes of play, Colombia's Willie Colon made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cyprian Mitus was left in no man's land by his defense there! Rene Higuita showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ingmar Kracke in the 47th minute of the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sydney Baiano stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 50th minute, Zafer Yalçıner hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Barto Gayoso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cyprian Mitus having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Willie Colon in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cyprian Mitus prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Willie Colon in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cyprian Mitus saved Resistencia Tayrona FC from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 55 minutes, Willie Colon put it in 6-0 from a short distance just to the right of Cyprian Mitus. In the 60th minute, Barto Gayoso made a precise shot to the right of Cyprian Mitus. Resistencia Tayrona FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 7-0. Colombia's Zaquiel Puredo was substituted for Sansone Poso. If Zaquiel Puredo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Christiano Ronaldo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cyprian Mitus was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. In the 76th minute Sydney Baiano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rene Higuita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zafer Yalçıner could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Rene Higuita made a huge save. Rene Higuita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ingmar Kracke in the 78th minute of play. Christiano Ronaldo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cyprian Mitus having to make a save. Resistencia Tayrona FC's Taurino Hernaiz was substituted for Sydney Baiano. In the 86th minute, Xuaco Fias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rene Higuita showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Taurino Hernaiz, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Christiano Ronaldo might have been able to make a better finish in the 90th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cyprian Mitus. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Christiano Ronaldo ran back to his position shaking his head. 90 minutes into the match, Resistencia Tayrona FC's goal looked a bit too open when Christiano Ronaldo came free, but Cyprian Mitus reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 91 played minutes Colombia got a freekick which was hit by Zaquiel Puredo. Leonides Rioja kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. When the referee ended the match the Colombia players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
