Esen Sanal made a fantastic save in the 7th minute, when Rickard Nilsson sent off a good shot on target. Esen Sanal was out of position in the 11 minute of play, and Niklas Bäck capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Niklas Bäck really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. Through an outstanding action, after 16 minutes, Esen Sanal successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 19th minute Christian Säv shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Esen Sanal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Esen Sanal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Torgny Forsman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 23rd minute Thames Ironworks FC were awarded a corner. Edvard Gunnarsson went to the cornerflag to take it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Benedykt Pankiewicz in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dick Melander prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Esen Sanal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Torgny Forsman in the 29th minute of the match. Esen Sanal made an important save on a dangerous shot by Torgny Forsman in the 32nd minute. 33 minutes into the match, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's goalkeeper Esen Sanal had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Torgny Forsman. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Niklas Bäck made a kick off. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Esen Sanal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edvard Gunnarsson in the 54th minute of play. Esen Sanal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Niklas Bäck in the 55th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Niklas Bäck in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Esen Sanal saved S.E.R. Caxias do Sul from getting behind. In the 57th minute of the match Thames Ironworks FC got a corner. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Edvard Gunnarsson ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Thames Ironworks FC's corner Edvard Gunnarsson fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Esen Sanal quite easily take care of the ball. Thames Ironworks FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Edvard Gunnarsson in the 59th minute. After taking down the ball on Thames Ironworks FC's corner Edvard Gunnarsson fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Esen Sanal quite easily take care of the ball. 59 minutes into the match, Thames Ironworks FC's Valter Vibjörnsson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Esen Sanal narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 82nd minute Romain Peyrou shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dick Melander saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 86th match minute, Thames Ironworks FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rickard Nilsson to maneuver through the defense. Dick Melander showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Romain Peyrou in the 89th minute of the match.
