Ceci Basket Ball Club's Adriano Picciano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Paulo de Brito in the 9th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Paulo de Brito in the 11th minute of play forced Ceci Basket Ball Club's goalkeeper Adriano Picciano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Ceci Basket Ball Club's Celso Dolfo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Vladimir Meira. That made the score 1-3 after 42 minutes of play. After a defensive mix-up in Complexo do PJ's zone, Arsenio Locaio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vladimir Meira came out of the goal and Arsenio Locaio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Adriano Picciano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Paulo de Brito in the 47th minute of play. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

51 minutes into the match, Ceci Basket Ball Club's goal looked a bit too open when José Paulo de Brito came free, but Adriano Picciano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Complexo do PJ fans' excitement grew in the 80th match minute when Complexo do PJ's José Paulo de Brito looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal.
