In the 5th minute, Pihl United's Pontus Högström ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Angelo Pilla. Angelo Pilla yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. In the 8th match minute, Carioca FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniele Bani to maneuver through the defense. Angelo Pilla acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 10th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Nicolaas Anelka. 13 minutes into the match, Pihl United's Valentin Beckeman sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Angelo Pilla narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pontus Högström in the 20th minute of play forced Carioca FC's goalkeeper Angelo Pilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Han Guang Kang took the ball and in the 22 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gustav Wallengren. Gustav Wallengren dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Pihl United's Gustav Wallengren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emilio Altobelli in the 25th minute of play. With a little luck, Carioca FC's Angelo Pilla got control of the ball when Valentin Beckeman tried to sneak it across the goal line. Han Guang Kang fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gustav Wallengren having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Pihl United's Nicolaas Anelka got a free kick in the 41st minute. Angelo Pilla was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Pontus Högström showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 47 minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Valentin Beckeman to strike the kick off in the second half. If Valentin Beckeman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 65 minutes into the match, Pihl United's goalkeeper Gustav Wallengren had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Han Guang Kang. Angelo Pilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Shea Caballero in the 66th minute of the match. 68 minutes into the match, Carioca FC's goal looked a bit too open when Pontus Högström came free, but Angelo Pilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Angelo Pilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Shea Caballero, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. After a rather tough play, Carioca FC's Han Guang Kang got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Carioca FC's Carmine Bottaro was substituted for Volli Muuga. A collision led to Carioca FC getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Han Guang Kang hit a great ball. Alex Göransson hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Donato Castelli struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Gustav Wallengren didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Carioca FC. After some careless play in the Carioca FC defense, Pontus Högström kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Angelo Pilla. The Carioca FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Angelo Pilla should have stopped the shot. In the 89th minute, Emilio Altobelli ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gustav Wallengren was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-3. If Pontus Högström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gustav Wallengren was out of position in the 95 minute of play, and Daniele Bani capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Daniele Bani really showed his touch with that goal: 3-4. Angelo Pilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pontus Högström, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Pihl United lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
