Alejandro Bemabe's late challenge caught a De hijgende Hertjes's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ate Famelen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Venancio Unai in the 27th minute of play. Ezequiel Cerutti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 32nd match minute, De hijgende Hertjes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mümin Ersezen to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as Julio Gonzales kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ate Famelen. That made the score 2-0 in the 33 minute of play. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Venancio Unai was the one to do the kick off. Ate Famelen came out of the goal and Julio Gonzales tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 80 minutes into the match, De hijgende Hertjes's goal looked a bit too open when Venancio Unai came free, but Ate Famelen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Arsenal booed when De hijgende Hertjes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marco Assendelft didn't get a good kick on the ball. Venancio Unai struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Ate Famelen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Arsenal.
