The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Delmar Bitxintxo's late challenge caught a Racing Club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Delmar Bitxintxo helped the player get up and apologised. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 3rd minute of the game. One of Tetra Pack FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Racing Club:s goal. After a rather tough play, Tetra Pack FC's Arsenio Ordono got a free kick in the 6th minute. After 8 minutes of play, Racing Club's Ciro Rexino made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Aaron Bazkoare was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Ciro Rexino in the 12th minute of play forced Tetra Pack FC's goalkeeper Aaron Bazkoare to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eugenio Nevada showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Esteban Ezkerra, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Angelo Cefero's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eugenio Nevada read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. The Racing Club fans' excitement grew in the 16th match minute when Racing Club's Ciro Rexino looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 20 minutes into the match, Ciro Rexino notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Tetra Pack FC's Aaron Bazkoare. Aaron Bazkoare was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Racing Club getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Modesto Bras hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dionisio Hegoi in the 24th minute of play forced Racing Club's goalkeeper Eugenio Nevada to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 28th minute, Esteban Ezkerra left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Tetra Pack FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. In the 33rdth minute of the game Aquiles Bieito who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tetra Pack FC's Aaron Bazkoare was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. During the 33rd minute of the match Delmar Bitxintxo completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Delmar Bitxintxo a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Delmar Bitxintxo kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. In the 45th minute of the match Tetra Pack FC got a corner. Racing Club's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Arsenio Ordono ran over to the corner to take the kick. Tetra Pack FC's Arsenio Ordono was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Eugenio Nevada in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 5-1.

Eugenio Nevada showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Angelo Cefero, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. A sloppy throw-in by Arsenio Ordono in the 55th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Racing Club's Modesto Bras. In the 58th minute the ball was on its way in behind Racing Club's goalkeeper Eugenio Nevada, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Aaron Bazkoare showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ciro Rexino, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. With an all-out effort, Tetra Pack FC's Eugenio Nevada threw himself towards the right post 62 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Angelo Cefero, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Eugenio Nevada made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Angelo Cefero in the 67th minute of play. After some careless play in the Racing Club defense, Angelo Cefero kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eugenio Nevada. The Racing Club fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eugenio Nevada should have stopped the shot. Racing Club made a substitution. Aquilino Timo replaced Ciro Rexino. After some careless play in the Tetra Pack FC defense, Aquilino Timo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Aaron Bazkoare. The Tetra Pack FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aaron Bazkoare should have stopped the shot. Racing Club's Bilyan Chochkov was substituted for Aquiles Bieito. In the 87th play minute Angelo Cefero came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Eugenio Nevada. 6-3. When Arsenio Ordono fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tetra Pack FC's protests and gave Arsenio Ordono a yellow card for diving instead. Arsenio Ordono hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Racing Club's Eugenio Nevada played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Angelo Cefero in the 91st minute of play. The supporters of Tetra Pack FC booed when Racing Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Inocencio Guerrero didn't get a good kick on the ball.
