The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Erwin Billault received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Domenico Sabatino came out and tried to block the shot, but Erwin Billault slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 4th minute. 9 minutes into the match, Erwin Billault dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Domenico Sabatino, 2-0. With a little luck, Sorci Viola's Domenico Sabatino got control of the ball when Toufik Loir tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rathmore Lime Tree's Toufik Loir got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alix Geoffray took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anfilogino Chiola, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 21 played minutes Sorci Viola got a freekick which was hit by Alberto Carozza. Erwin Billault was extremely unlucky when he, in the 23rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After having played for 27 minutes, Toufik Loir managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rathmore Lime Tree's supporters crossed their fingers, but Toufik Loir was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, Sorci Viola's Domenico Sabatino got control of the ball when Toufik Loir tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rathmore Lime Tree's Alix Geoffray played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anfilogino Chiola in the 30th minute of play. A collision led to Rathmore Lime Tree getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Toufik Loir hit a great ball. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sorci Viola's goalkeeper Domenico Sabatino, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Domenico Sabatino acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 37th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Pierre-Antoine Fouche. Amerigo Toninelli kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Toufik Loir got free with Domenico Sabatino in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 45th minute, Beppe Zoff ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alix Geoffray was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Beppe Zoff stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Alix Geoffray was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Anfilogino Chiola showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-2 in the 51 minute of play. In the 54th minute, Toufik Loir got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 64 minutes in the game Ettore Teti did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Arturo Bonelli. Ettore Teti made in the 66th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Arturo Bonelli. After 69 played minutes Sorci Viola got a freekick which was hit by Elia Vaiani. After 71 played minutes Rathmore Lime Tree got a freekick which was hit by Toufik Loir. Rathmore Lime Tree made a substitution. Carl Mischler replaced Pierre-Antoine Fouche. A collision led to Rathmore Lime Tree getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Toufik Loir hit a great ball. 74 minutes into the match, Sorci Viola's goal looked a bit too open when Toufik Loir came free, but Domenico Sabatino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rathmore Lime Tree's Alix Geoffray proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to save Rathmore Lime Tree from getting a goal against them. If Amerigo Toninelli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Rathmore Lime Tree's Kilian Fauré got a free kick in the 89th minute. Domenico Sabatino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Toufik Loir, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. In the 94th match minute, Rathmore Lime Tree was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kilian Fauré to maneuver through the defense.
