Powiśle Warszawa's supporters rose to their feet, but Piotr Majewski was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Domenico Sabatino breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Sorci Viola booed when Powiśle Warszawa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cyryl Rukszcz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Beppe Zoff struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Boguslaw Jucha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sorci Viola. Anfilogino Chiola received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Boguslaw Jucha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Amerigo Toninelli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Sorci Viola getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Ettore Teti hit a great ball. Boguslaw Jucha made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Anfilogino Chiola sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Sorci Viola's Edmondo Bertini got a free kick in the 39th minute. Domenico Sabatino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lukasz Kempski, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Piotr Majewski in the 43rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Domenico Sabatino prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Amerigo Toninelli kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Piotr Majewski stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Tadeusz Pionek received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Domenico Sabatino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Powiśle Warszawa defense, Beppe Zoff kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Boguslaw Jucha. The Powiśle Warszawa fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Boguslaw Jucha should have stopped the shot. In the 63rd minute Ryan Giggs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Domenico Sabatino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Powiśle Warszawa's zone, Anfilogino Chiola stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Boguslaw Jucha came out of the goal and Anfilogino Chiola tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 74th minute of the match Sorci Viola got a corner. Powiśle Warszawa's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Arturo Bonelli ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Arturo Bonelli got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Boguslaw Jucha quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Boguslaw Jucha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anfilogino Chiola, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Boguslaw Jucha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Beppe Zoff, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Piotr Majewski got free with Domenico Sabatino in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Boguslaw Jucha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anfilogino Chiola in the 87th minute of the match. Boguslaw Jucha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Beppe Zoff in the 88th minute of play. After 89 played minutes Sorci Viola got a freekick which was hit by Arturo Bonelli. After a rather tough play, Powiśle Warszawa's Lukasz Kempski got a free kick in the 93rd minute. After 95 played minutes Powiśle Warszawa got a freekick which was hit by Ryan Giggs.
