When the match had been going on for 15 minutes, Limburg United's Xander Van Aarschot got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Zabulón Carabajal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joos Horemans in the 20th minute of play forced Limburg United's goalkeeper Julius Vanneste to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julius Vanneste showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jacq Rouvoet, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. FC Klavertje Vier's Angelo Di Maria was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Julius Vanneste in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. FC Klavertje Vier's Zabulón Carabajal proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save FC Klavertje Vier from getting a goal against them. In the 30th minute, Douglas Debecker hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 33rd minute Joos Horemans shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julius Vanneste saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Philip Toeback who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 35thth minute tested the skills of Zabulón Carabajal when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Limburg United's Julius Vanneste played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claude Montens in the 39th minute of play. Douglas Debecker was shown his second yellow card after 41 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 42nd match minute, Limburg United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matijs Mallecots to maneuver through the defense. Jacq Rouvoet scored 1-1 in the 47th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julius Vanneste, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Angelo Di Maria to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Joos Horemans shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julius Vanneste saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zabulón Carabajal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Philip Toeback, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, FC Klavertje Vier's Jimmy Baert got a free kick in the 59th minute. When the match had gone on for 61 minutes, Jacq Rouvoet put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Julius Vanneste. The supporters of FC Klavertje Vier booed when Limburg United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jesse Debock didn't get a good kick on the ball. Julius Vanneste breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Julius Vanneste made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Jacq Rouvoet sent off a good shot on target. Julius Vanneste stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jacq Rouvoet's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. Jacq Rouvoet did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-3 to the left of a surprised Julius Vanneste 79 minutes into the match. Jacq Rouvoet took the ball and in the 83 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julius Vanneste. Julius Vanneste dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. In the 89th minute Jesse Debock shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zabulón Carabajal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 91 minutes into the match, Joos Horemans dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Julius Vanneste, 1-5. Julius Vanneste made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jacq Rouvoet in the 95th minute. In the 97th minute Joos Horemans shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julius Vanneste saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. FC Klavertje Vier walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
