Spectators: 154 (Terracing: 116, Seating: 35, VIP seats: 3) Santos FC's Rusty Little started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Virila Parra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leon Burr, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. Virila Parra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kris Marks in the 19th minute of play. Constancio Cardet's late challenge caught a Santos FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Constancio Cardet helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to CD Municipal getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Constancio Cardet hit a great ball. When Rusty Little came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Santos FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rusty Little couldn't finish the play. In the 33rd minute Rusty Little shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Virila Parra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arnulfo Camus sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Arnulfo Camus made the kick off in the second half. Rex Shipman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marko Orellan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Santos FC's Jim Mitchell got a free kick in the 56th minute. Rusty Little received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Virila Parra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, CD Municipal's Virila Parra got control of the ball when Hans Ladd tried to sneak it across the goal line. 75 minutes into the match, Arnulfo Camus had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rex Shipman. Santos FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Arnulfo Camus was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. In the 85th minute the ball was on its way in behind Santos FC's goalkeeper Rex Shipman, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Louis Ragland during the 87th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. CD Municipal's Joaquin Molina got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Virila Parra made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Kris Marks sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, CD Municipal's Arnulfo Camus got a free kick in the 94th minute. Santos FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
