The Henley Utd fans' excitement grew in the 5th match minute when Henley Utd's Kurt Fanström looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kurt Fanström in the 8th minute of play forced Sundborn IF's goalkeeper Sigvard Näfver to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Henley Utd's Adrian Säv got control of the ball when Karl Arhenius tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sune Bruhn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Sigvard Näfver tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 35 minutes into the match, Henley Utd's goal looked a bit too open when Niclas Hermansson came free, but Adrian Säv reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Karl Arhenius got free with Adrian Säv in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sundborn IF's Sigvard Näfver played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kurt Fanström in the 38th minute of play. Jonas Hybbert could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Adrian Säv made a huge save. Sigvard Näfver made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sune Bruhn in the 44th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kurt Fanström was the one to do the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rune Nordström during the 51st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 51st minute, Rune Nordström hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 54 played minutes Henley Utd got a freekick which was hit by Henrik Kjellberg. When Josef Blomqvist came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Sundborn IF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Josef Blomqvist couldn't finish the play. Sigvard Näfver showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kurt Fanström in the 59th minute of the match. The supporters of Sundborn IF booed when Henley Utd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sverker Enström didn't get a good kick on the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 80 minutes, Sigvard Näfver successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Calle Knutsson charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Calle Knutsson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 84th match minute, Sundborn IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Calle Knutsson to maneuver through the defense. In the 88th minute Kurt Fanström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sigvard Näfver saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 91 minutes into the match, Henley Utd's goal looked a bit too open when Jonas Hybbert came free, but Adrian Säv reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
