In the 18th minute, Elvis Jacob hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 20th minute Henry Bada shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Simon Rainey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Simon Rainey took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henry Bada, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Flagstaff's Gregg Lipscomb got a free kick in the 24th minute. In the 24th minute of the match Facundo Arango sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Simon Rainey skillfully saved the ball. Vinicio Collado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kermit Regan, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. In the 29th minute, Stephan Gauthier hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Simon Rainey showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Henry Bada in the 34th minute of the match. After 36 played minutes Flagstaff got a freekick which was hit by Martin Cermak. Vinicio Collado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kermit Regan in the 38th minute of play. 43 minutes into the game, Veronica Santotis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Astillero del Guayas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Flagstaff the free kick. A collision led to Astillero del Guayas getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Veronica Santotis hit a great ball. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lastra Trilla made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kermit Regan in the 55th minute of play forced Astillero del Guayas's goalkeeper Vinicio Collado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 62nd minute, Henry Bada made a precise shot to the right of Simon Rainey. Flagstaff's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Vinicio Collado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kermit Regan in the 67th minute of the match. Kirk Miranda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Vinicio Collado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Flagstaff's Simon Rainey got control of the ball when Veronica Santotis tried to sneak it across the goal line. Lastra Trilla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Simon Rainey having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Astillero del Guayas's Veronica Santotis got a free kick in the 80th minute. Henry Bada could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Simon Rainey made a huge save. Veronica Santotis was shown his second yellow card after 93 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match.
