Moneyball Academy's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wilfredo Weterio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tunç Akkaya sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 15 minutes into the match, SSV Ulm 1846's goalkeeper Timo Courtois had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wilfredo Weterio. Alex Kopf charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alex Kopf the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to SSV Ulm 1846 getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tunç Akkaya in the 19th minute of play forced Moneyball Academy's goalkeeper Turgay Şeren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wilfredo Weterio got free with Timo Courtois in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Wilfredo Weterio might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Timo Courtois. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tunç Akkaya in the 62nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Turgay Şeren saved Moneyball Academy from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 62 minutes, Tunç Akkaya put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Turgay Şeren. Jacinto Rojas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Timo Courtois read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. Turgay Şeren made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alberigo Sessa in the 66th minute. After 68 minutes Moneyball Academy's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Sven-Olof Lilja who took care of the corner kick. Timo Courtois showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sebastian Bihar in the 69th minute of the match. When the match clock showed 73 minutes, the score became 1-3 when Sebastian Bihar sped through SSV Ulm 1846's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Timo Courtois. After 76 played minutes SSV Ulm 1846 got a freekick which was hit by Sven-Olof Lilja. Arnaldo Bernaldo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 78th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Timo Courtois. SSV Ulm 1846's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Timo Courtois took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sebastian Bihar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tunç Akkaya in the 83rd minute of play forced Moneyball Academy's goalkeeper Turgay Şeren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 86 minutes into the match, SSV Ulm 1846's Tunç Akkaya sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Turgay Şeren narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Timo Courtois made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastian Bihar in the 87th minute of play. 92 minutes into the match, SSV Ulm 1846's goal looked a bit too open when Sebastian Bihar came free, but Timo Courtois reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 96 minutes, Derek Henderson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SSV Ulm 1846 and the Moneyball Academy players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 96th minute, Derek Henderson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched SSV Ulm 1846 eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
