After a defensive mix-up in Helsingborg IF's zone, Geert-Jan Coomans stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Niklas Kvick came out of the goal and Geert-Jan Coomans tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pan Jian Yong sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Helsingborg IF's Jan Malmberg got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Niklas Kvick didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pan Jian Yong went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Edwin Hammarbäck made in the 17th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Ziemowit Wawak. Pan Jian Yong blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Niklas Kvick having to make a save. Through an outstanding action, after 19 minutes, Niklas Kvick successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Lions United's Pan Jian Yong was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 22nd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pan Jian Yong got free with Niklas Kvick in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 28th minute, Lions United's Pan Jian Yong ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Niklas Kvick. Niklas Kvick yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. Pan Jian Yong might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Niklas Kvick. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pan Jian Yong ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 31st minute Pan Jian Yong shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Niklas Kvick saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Niklas Kvick showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pan Jian Yong, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. 48 minutes into the match, Helsingborg IF's goalkeeper Niklas Kvick had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pan Jian Yong. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
An unexpectedly hard shot by Pan Jian Yong in the 51st minute of play forced Helsingborg IF's goalkeeper Niklas Kvick to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 54th minute Ziemowit Wawak shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Steve De Wilde saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Pan Jian Yong came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Lions United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pan Jian Yong couldn't finish the play. Niklas Kvick stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pan Jian Yong's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. In the 62nd minute Otto Fanström suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. After 63 minutes, Geert-Jan Coomans mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lions United and the Helsingborg IF players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Lions United getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Geert-Jan Coomans hit a great ball. Pan Jian Yong might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Niklas Kvick. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pan Jian Yong ran back to his position shaking his head. Niklas Kvick took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pan Jian Yong, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Helsingborg IF defense, Pan Jian Yong kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Niklas Kvick. The Helsingborg IF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Niklas Kvick should have stopped the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pan Jian Yong in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Niklas Kvick saved Helsingborg IF from getting behind. In the 73rd minute, Peng De Guang hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 76th minute Pan Jian Yong shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Niklas Kvick saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 79thth minute of the game Pan Jian Yong who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Helsingborg IF's Niklas Kvick was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 81 minutes had been played when some careless play by Lions United's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Bengt-Arne Tönnberg was slow to take the kick. During this time Helsingborg IF's players had a chance to rest. 84 minutes into the match, Lions United's goal looked a bit too open when Bengt-Arne Tönnberg came free, but Steve De Wilde reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 87 minutes into the game, Pan Jian Yong cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 7-1. Niklas Kvick was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 89th match minute, Lions United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pan Jian Yong to maneuver through the defense. In the 91st minute, Pan Jian Yong ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Niklas Kvick was frozen by the shot and now it was 8-1. Lions United's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
