Moritz Hasenjäger got a throw-in 19 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Uwe Birmes. Oliverio Kahn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Enrique Cassaretto in the 21st minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Ture Juniel's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Calixto Inchaurdi was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. Ture Juniel spun around in front of the goal 22 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Peru's goal. Sulo Montaña's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Calixto Inchaurdi firmly grabbed it by the left post. Jorrin Briones blasted a shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Oliverio Kahn having to make a save. Germany were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
