The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 7 minutes into the match, Everardo Regis had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Adrianinho de Medeiros. Grêmio Imortal's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Everardo Regis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Adrianinho de Medeiros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Everardo Regis in the 10th minute of the match. 10 minutes into the game, La Cosa Nostra's Everardo Regis nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Adrianinho de Medeiros made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. After 13 minutes of play, Grêmio Imortal's Denílson Ramos made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Leonel Rafe was left in no man's land by his defense there! Grêmio Imortal's Adrianinho de Medeiros proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Grêmio Imortal from getting a goal against them. Grêmio Imortal's attack was well implemented in the 17th minute, but when Toninho Peixoto was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. Grêmio Imortal's Adrianinho de Medeiros proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Grêmio Imortal from getting a goal against them. La Cosa Nostra's Leonel Rafe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronaldinho Maranhense in the 25th minute of play. Everardo Regis struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Adrianinho de Medeiros didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for La Cosa Nostra. Raphael Tasso scored 2-2 in the 34th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Leonel Rafe, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 39 minutes into the game, Raphael Tasso cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-4. Leonel Rafe was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some careless play in the La Cosa Nostra defense, Raphael Tasso kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Leonel Rafe. The La Cosa Nostra fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Leonel Rafe should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raphael Tasso in the 46th minute of play forced La Cosa Nostra's goalkeeper Leonel Rafe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 2-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ronaldinho Maranhense to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Grêmio Imortal's zone, Everardo Regis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adrianinho de Medeiros came out of the goal and Everardo Regis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Felippe Azevedo's late challenge caught a La Cosa Nostra's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Felippe Azevedo helped the player get up and apologised. In the 53rd match minute, Grêmio Imortal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felippe Azevedo to maneuver through the defense. After 54 minutes of play, La Cosa Nostra's Mateo Joachim made it 3-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Adrianinho de Medeiros was left in no man's land by his defense there! Fabio Totakoxe kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Leonel Rafe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Denílson Ramos in the 60th minute of play. If Raphael Tasso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 67th minute, Grêmio Imortal's Raphael Tasso ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Leonel Rafe. Leonel Rafe yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-6. Leonel Rafe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Denílson Ramos, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. The supporters of Grêmio Imortal booed when La Cosa Nostra was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Reynaldo Rami didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 74 minutes, Denílson Ramos took a quick shot and it went in 3-7 without a chance for Leonel Rafe to make any attempt to save it. After 79 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for La Cosa Nostra! Leonel Rafe made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Raphael Tasso sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Toninho Peixoto got free with Leonel Rafe in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ronaldinho Maranhense kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. After having played for 97 minutes, Eustacio Llorienzo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. La Cosa Nostra's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eustacio Llorienzo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match was over Grêmio Imortal could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than La Cosa Nostra throughout the match.
