An unexpectedly hard shot by Frankie Carnes in the 9th minute of play forced QUASAR AZULGRANA's goalkeeper Ferrer Arias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 10 minutes QUASAR AZULGRANA's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Valéry Morales who took care of the corner kick. When Bixente Lizarazu fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vancouver Reds's protests and gave Bixente Lizarazu a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of QUASAR AZULGRANA booed when Vancouver Reds was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bixente Lizarazu didn't get a good kick on the ball. QUASAR AZULGRANA's Ferrer Arias proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save QUASAR AZULGRANA from getting a goal against them. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Camilo Lehoi during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Vancouver Reds booed when QUASAR AZULGRANA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Lehoi didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Harlan Correa kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ferrer Arias. That made the score 2-0 in the 33 minute of play. When QUASAR AZULGRANA's Modesto Jeraldo in the 38th minute got a chance for a shot 38th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

The wind increased when Valéry Morales made the kick off in the second half. Ferrer Arias showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bradley Ferrell, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. QUASAR AZULGRANA's Ferrer Arias played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frankie Carnes in the 58th minute of play. 59 minutes into the match, QUASAR AZULGRANA's goal looked a bit too open when Bradley Ferrell came free, but Ferrer Arias reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 75th minute, Harlan Correa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ferrer Arias was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. Camilo Lehoi kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. In the 80th match minute, QUASAR AZULGRANA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Remigio Gau to maneuver through the defense. In the 81st minute Bradley Ferrell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ferrer Arias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 82nd match minute, Vancouver Reds was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudio Plante to maneuver through the defense. After 83 minutes, Bernabe Efren mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the QUASAR AZULGRANA and the Vancouver Reds players grew even worse after the yellow card. 84 minutes into the match, QUASAR AZULGRANA's goal looked a bit too open when Bradley Ferrell came free, but Ferrer Arias reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
