Robbrecht Valcke charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alessandro Iacovella stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Gillis Heirremans tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alvise Bevilacqua struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Gillis Heirremans didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Carloforte f.c.. After having played for 65 minutes, Alessandro Iacovella managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Carloforte f.c.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Alessandro Iacovella was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Leon Valkeneers's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Beppe Savoia was relentless in the 67th minute of the game. 71 minutes into the match, Lions United's goalkeeper Gillis Heirremans had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alessandro Iacovella. Lions United's Gillis Heirremans played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alvise Bevilacqua in the 90th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Rotili in the 92nd minute of play forced Lions United's goalkeeper Gillis Heirremans to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leon Valkeneers in the 93rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Beppe Savoia prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Frank Rotili was extremely unlucky when he, in the 97th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. The Lions United fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Carloforte f.c. were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
