Mauricio Atarratze showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Romeo Goma in the 7th minute of the match. 9 minutes into the match, Benedicto Lalla notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Carpathian Wolves's Radu Domide. Radu Domide was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 13th minute San Martin de Tucuman were awarded a corner. Eugenio Orland went to the cornerflag to take it. After 15 minutes Carpathian Wolves's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Eugenio Orland who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Eugenio Orland got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Radu Domide quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sabin Ciomag in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mauricio Atarratze prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Mauricio Atarratze showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gigi Miclescu in the 26th minute of the match. Carpathian Wolves's Radu Domide proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Carpathian Wolves from getting a goal against them. In the 31st minute of the match San Martin de Tucuman got a corner. Carpathian Wolves's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Eugenio Orland ran over to the corner to take the kick. After a rather tough play, Carpathian Wolves's Romeo Goma got a free kick in the 40th minute. After some careless play in the San Martin de Tucuman defense, Romeo Goma kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mauricio Atarratze. The San Martin de Tucuman fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mauricio Atarratze should have stopped the shot. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sabin Ciomag to strike the kick off in the second half. The San Martin de Tucuman fans' excitement grew in the 82nd match minute when San Martin de Tucuman's Benedicto Lalla looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 84th minute the ball was on its way in behind Carpathian Wolves's goalkeeper Radu Domide, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some careless play in the Carpathian Wolves defense, Benedicto Lalla kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Radu Domide. The Carpathian Wolves fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Radu Domide should have stopped the shot. Luisito Seme kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. After 92 played minutes, Carpathian Wolves's Moise Pandele shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Mauricio Atarratze came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Carpathian Wolves reached it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Romeo Goma got free with Mauricio Atarratze in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
