In the 19th match minute, Esparta FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Efrain Trifol to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Pollock Pines AFC's Tião Galvão got control of the ball when Luís Artime tried to sneak it across the goal line. Luís Artime sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 45th minute Luís Artime shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tião Galvão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Tião Galvão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Artime in the 88th minute of play. Luís Artime fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tião Galvão having to interfere. Tião Galvão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ruperto Sedeni, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tião Galvão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ruperto Sedeni, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. Esparta FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
