Victor Victorica fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nereo Gasteiz having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 10 minutes, Victor Victorica put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Nereo Gasteiz. 14 minutes into the match, SuperDepor's goal looked a bit too open when Ioan Encuțescu came free, but Radu Tarchilă reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nereo Gasteiz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Victor Victorica's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. Arsen Sobetskyi kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. In the 33rd minute Damaso Lertxun shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Radu Tarchilă saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 34 minutes into the match, FC Magdeburg's goal looked a bit too open when Victor Victorica came free, but Nereo Gasteiz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Desiderio Ayala kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. When SuperDepor's Victor Victorica in the 36th minute got a chance for a shot 36th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

After having played for 50 minutes, Victor Victorica managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SuperDepor's supporters crossed their fingers, but Victor Victorica was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. FC Magdeburg's Nereo Gasteiz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Călin Bolborici in the 52nd minute of play. Desiderio Ayala sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nereo Gasteiz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victor Victorica in the 57th minute of play. In the 59th minute, SuperDepor's Victor Victorica dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-4. Nereo Gasteiz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Victor Victorica, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. The crowd rose to their feet as SuperDepor's Iustinian Comăneci slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Nereo Gasteiz. That made the score 0-5 after 63 minutes of play. 68 minutes into the match, FC Magdeburg's goal looked a bit too open when Victor Victorica came free, but Nereo Gasteiz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Victor Victorica's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nereo Gasteiz was relentless in the 69th minute of the game. 71 minutes into the match, Stelian Pivniceru notched a goal, 0-6, to the right of FC Magdeburg's Nereo Gasteiz. Nereo Gasteiz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to SuperDepor getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Rareș Elian hit a great ball. SuperDepor's Radu Tarchilă played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ioan Encuțescu in the 76th minute of play. When Romeo Hosu fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SuperDepor's protests and gave Romeo Hosu a yellow card for diving instead. Romeo Hosu kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ioan Encuțescu in the 80th minute of play forced SuperDepor's goalkeeper Radu Tarchilă to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 81st match minute, FC Magdeburg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Desiderio Ayala to maneuver through the defense. Nereo Gasteiz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Victor Victorica's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. 84 minutes had been played when some careless play by FC Magdeburg's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Călin Bolborici was slow to take the kick. During this time SuperDepor's players had a chance to rest. Leonard Hirean received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Nereo Gasteiz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. SuperDepor's Emil Gârdescu was substituted for Victor Victorica. 88 minutes into the match, SuperDepor's goal looked a bit too open when Ioan Encuțescu came free, but Radu Tarchilă reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Iustinian Comăneci received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Nereo Gasteiz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 92 played minutes FC Magdeburg got a freekick which was hit by Pedro Piarres. When Iustinian Comăneci came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the SuperDepor fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Iustinian Comăneci couldn't finish the play. When the final whistle sounded SuperDepor left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than FC Magdeburg.
