Esteban Patxi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ioan Encuțescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Desiderio Ayala succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 7th playminute. Roque Frasco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nereo Gasteiz having to interfere. Mauro Dodorol hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Desiderio Ayala kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Esteban Patxi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ioan Encuțescu in the 28th minute of play. The FC Magdeburg fans' excitement grew in the 29th match minute when FC Magdeburg's Ioan Encuțescu looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. Nereo Gasteiz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 58th match minute, FC Magdeburg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anacleto Barea to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the ESTILO K - off defense, Ioan Encuțescu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Esteban Patxi. FC Magdeburg's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ioan Encuțescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 95th minute, Roque Frasco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Desiderio Ayala sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. FC Magdeburg's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
