Eliseo Galdamez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgardo Orobio in the 9th minute of play. In the 9th match minute, Darlington was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudio Leguizamon to maneuver through the defense. The referee felt a red card was in order, 13 minutes into the game, when Lorenzo Cortez put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 12th minute of the game. One of Finglesham United:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Darlington:s goal. When the match had been going on for 15 minutes, Darlington's Efren Barraza got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Armando Hinguanzo. Eliseo Galdamez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alonso Peña in the 26th minute of the match. 30 minutes into the match, Edgardo Uranga had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eliseo Galdamez. Darlington's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edgardo Uranga was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lorenzo Quintanilla got free with Armando Hinguanzo in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 44 played minutes Finglesham United got a freekick which was hit by Odir Ancheta. 46 minutes into the match, Finglesham United's goal looked a bit too open when Gilberto Del Cid came free, but Armando Hinguanzo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alonso Peña's late challenge caught a Darlington's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alonso Peña helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Finglesham United's Alonso Peña got a free kick in the 47th minute. Armando Hinguanzo made a fantastic save in the 48th minute, when Lorenzo Quintanilla sent off a good shot on target. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Edgardo Uranga made the kick off in the second half. Edgardo Uranga's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eliseo Galdamez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edgardo Uranga got free with Eliseo Galdamez in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gilberto Del Cid fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armando Hinguanzo having to interfere. In the 60th minute, Lorenzo Quintanilla got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 63 minutes into the game, Lorenzo Quintanilla cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Armando Hinguanzo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Lorenzo Quintanilla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armando Hinguanzo having to interfere. Guillermo Santana hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. 75 minutes into the match, Finglesham United's goal looked a bit too open when Gilberto Del Cid came free, but Armando Hinguanzo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eliseo Galdamez made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Edgardo Uranga sent off a good shot on target. If Edgardo Uranga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eliseo Galdamez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alonso Peña, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. Many of Finglesham United's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Finglesham United may have spent more time on the ball, but Darlington were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
