Baltazar Moreno recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 25 played minutes Accrington AFC got a freekick which was hit by Rony Díaz. Turnpike Lane United's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Abraham Magaña in the 28th minute. It was a well-played corner which Efren Cortez managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. After 31 played minutes Turnpike Lane United got a freekick which was hit by Efren Cortez. The supporters of Turnpike Lane United booed when Accrington AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rony Díaz didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Emerson Peña had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Avilio Reyes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Henry Serrano in the 45th minute of the match. But to his dismay, Emerson Peña quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Henry Serrano to make the kick off. Accrington AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emerson Peña was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Emerson Peña fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alejandro Zelaya having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Baltazar Moreno's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alejandro Zelaya was relentless in the 99th minute of the game. Accrington AFC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
