The crowd rose to their feet as Lautaro Frigo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Monge Lima. That made the score 1-0 in the 6 minute of play. After 11 minutes Sal Rom F.C.'s defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Lautaro Frigo who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on RACING CLUB's corner Guillermo Aballe fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Monge Lima quite easily take care of the ball. An unexpected shot in the 13th minute by Eustaquio Solorzano got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 13 minutes into the game, Santiago Sedeño was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sal Rom F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave RACING CLUB the free kick. In the 13th match minute, Sal Rom F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Santiago Sedeño to maneuver through the defense. In the 16th minute of the match, Lautaro Frigo tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Monge Lima saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Monge Lima took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dom Gamble, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Monge Lima was a little too slow when Eustaquio Solorzano got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 19th minute. The score was now 2-0. In the 23rd minute, RACING CLUB's Eustaquio Solorzano ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Monge Lima. Monge Lima yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. In the 26th minute, Cagua Aramberri hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Santiago Sedeño recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 32 minutes into the game, RACING CLUB's Eustaquio Solorzano nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Monge Lima made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. After a rather tough play, Sal Rom F.C.'s Lucas Alberca got a free kick in the 38th minute. 41 minutes into the game, Cagua Aramberri was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. RACING CLUB's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sal Rom F.C. the free kick. A collision led to RACING CLUB getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Cagua Aramberri hit a great ball. In the 42nd minute, Marcos Cortinas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Through an outstanding action, after 44 minutes, Monge Lima successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 45th match minute, RACING CLUB was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lino Pero to maneuver through the defense. Santiago Sedeño might have been able to make a better finish in the 48th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ambrosio Tancredo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Santiago Sedeño ran back to his position shaking his head. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

Eustaquio Solorzano's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Monge Lima read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. In the 54th minute Lino Pero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Monge Lima saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 62 minutes into the game, RACING CLUB's Lino Pero nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Monge Lima made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-0. Lautaro Frigo kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Bagui Oliver lost his temper 71 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. A collision led to RACING CLUB getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Bagui Oliver hit a great ball. Lautaro Frigo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 79th minute, Lautaro Frigo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Lautaro Frigo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Xurdin Rendon's late challenge caught a RACING CLUB's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Xurdin Rendon helped the player get up and apologised. Xurdin Rendon hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. 88 minutes into the game, RACING CLUB's Lautaro Frigo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Monge Lima made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 7-0. Monge Lima made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lautaro Frigo in the 92nd minute of play. Lautaro Frigo took the ball and in the 96 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Monge Lima. Monge Lima dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 8-0.
