In the 18th minute, Leif Kuki left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Kontula Kickers fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. RACING CLUB's Ambrosio Tancredo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aki Järventaus in the 21st minute of play. RACING CLUB's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Lautaro Frigo in the 24th minute. The corner led RACING CLUB's Lautaro Frigo to fire away a dangerous shot which Vilhelm Palonen despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Lino Pero scored 1-1 in the 25th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Vilhelm Palonen, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 28th minute Aki Järventaus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ambrosio Tancredo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the RACING CLUB defense, Aki Järventaus kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ambrosio Tancredo. The RACING CLUB fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ambrosio Tancredo should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pellervo Koivunen in the 35th minute of play forced RACING CLUB's goalkeeper Ambrosio Tancredo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eustaquio Solorzano's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 38thth minute, Vilhelm Palonen skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 39 minutes had been played when some careless play by Kontula Kickers's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eustaquio Solorzano was the one to do the kick off.
