In the 26th minute, Frichoso Chapa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gomesano Larramendi kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. The supporters of Independiente del Huila booed when Iquina FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eduardo Arrizabalaga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Brion Ortega hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Iquina FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Raul Anievas in the 54th minute. When Frichoso Chapa came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Independiente del Huila fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frichoso Chapa couldn't finish the play. Independiente del Huila's Lorencio Rascuro was substituted for Jimeno Cortinez. Samuel Algara hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. 74 minutes into the match, Frichoso Chapa dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Carlos Acebo, 0-1. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Independiente del Huila would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
