After a rather tough play, America De Cali's Sansone Poso got a free kick in the 15th minute. 21 minutes into the match, America De Cali's goal looked a bit too open when Olivier Ancel came free, but Ioritz Hernainz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 24th minute Sansone Poso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lech Urban saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. R.B Leipzig's Lech Urban played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aquiles Telmo in the 28th minute of play. Olivier Ancel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to America De Cali getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Marquez Lando hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Sansone Poso kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Lech Urban. That made the score 1-0 in the 45 minute of play.

Ioritz Hernainz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Olivier Ancel, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. With a little luck, America De Cali's Ioritz Hernainz got control of the ball when Olivier Ancel tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 66th minute Ronaldo Messi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lech Urban saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 68 minutes, Olivier Ancel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. R.B Leipzig's supporters crossed their fingers, but Olivier Ancel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 83rd minute Aquiles Telmo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lech Urban saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Gomesano Gatica fell near the penalty area in the 88th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored America De Cali's protests and gave Gomesano Gatica a yellow card for diving instead.
