Reinaldo Herndon stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alexis Farrell's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. Stefan Rankin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reinaldo Herndon having to interfere. Alexis Farrell struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Reinaldo Herndon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tahata FC. Kirby Wyatt's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Ray Dennis firmly grabbed it by the left post. The audience was convinced that Alexis Farrell's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Reinaldo Herndon was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. DC United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kirby Wyatt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kirby Wyatt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Ray Dennis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alexis Farrell in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Reinaldo Herndon saved DC United from getting behind. In the 48th minute Alexis Farrell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reinaldo Herndon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alexis Farrell was the one to do the kick off. Wilfred Dubois's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ray Dennis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. Tahata FC's Ray Dennis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kirby Wyatt in the 62nd minute of play. Kirby Wyatt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ray Dennis having to interfere. 68 minutes into the match, Kirby Wyatt had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ray Dennis. Tahata FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kirby Wyatt was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. In the 71stth minute of the game Kirby Wyatt who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tahata FC's Ray Dennis was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After having played for 73 minutes, Foster Braun managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tahata FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Foster Braun was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 75th minute, Alexis Farrell got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ray Dennis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kirby Wyatt in the 76th minute of the match. Tahata FC's Ray Dennis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kirby Wyatt in the 79th minute of play. Reinaldo Herndon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anthony Watson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 83 minutes, Stefan Rankin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tahata FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stefan Rankin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 84 minutes into the match, DC United's goal looked a bit too open when Alexis Farrell came free, but Reinaldo Herndon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Tahata FC booed when DC United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bo Healy didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alexis Farrell blasted a shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Reinaldo Herndon having to make a save. Alexis Farrell in the 95thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Reinaldo Herndon, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Tahata FC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
