Curt Zavala sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mehmet Özdilek recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Stanford Cox received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Ron Pina tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Andy Madsen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Curt Zavala, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Eldon Washington fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andy Madsen having to interfere.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Curt Zavala was the one to do the kick off. Club Deportivo Leon's Andy Madsen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Curt Zavala in the 53rd minute of play. Club Deportivo Leon's Damien Keith got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Andy Madsen came out of the goal and Eldon Washington tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thomas Jacob charged in rather forcefully in the 96th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down.
