Freddie Farris took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carl Grep, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Damião Viveiros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicky Prescott, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. In the 47th minute Carl Grep shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Freddie Farris saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Freddie Farris showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jermaine Landreth in the 51st minute of the match. The referee ignored México FC's protests and gave George Albrecht a yellow card for diving instead. Freddie Farris had in the 88thth minute some difficulties stopping Jermaine Landreth's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Rebel Squids's Nicky Prescott got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of México FC booed when Rebel Squids was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Collin Landis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jermaine Landreth recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpected shot in the 97th minute by Nicky Prescott got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The Rebel Squids supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Rebel Squids would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
