The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Mohammad Norwood showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kerry Sellers in the 2nd minute of the match. In the 4th minute, Los Fresnos AFC's Braulio Bordat dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. C. A. Independiente's Erberk Müftüoğlu managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Dirk Mahoney in the 6 minute of the game. 9 minutes into the match, C. A. Independiente's goalkeeper Farid Mondragón had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Braulio Bordat. After 11 minutes of play, C. A. Independiente's Kerry Sellers made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mohammad Norwood was left in no man's land by his defense there! Kerry Sellers struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Mohammad Norwood didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for C. A. Independiente. Los Fresnos AFC's Mohammad Norwood played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kerry Sellers in the 21st minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Braulio Bordat got free with Farid Mondragón in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Farid Mondragón was a little too slow when Braulio Bordat got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 31st minute. The score was now 2-1. Braulio Bordat who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 38thth minute tested the skills of Farid Mondragón when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Braulio Bordat's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Farid Mondragón read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. The supporters of C. A. Independiente booed when Los Fresnos AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dirk Mahoney didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 43 played minutes Los Fresnos AFC got a freekick which was hit by Chris Marion. Mohammad Norwood made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eric Snowden in the 44th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The wind increased when Rocco Cameron made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rocco Cameron in the 53rd minute of play forced C. A. Independiente's goalkeeper Farid Mondragón to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The throw-in from Dirk Mahoney in the 59th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by C. A. Independiente's Sid Chadwick. In the 61st minute Braulio Bordat shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Farid Mondragón saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kerry Sellers might have been able to make a better finish in the 71st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mohammad Norwood. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kerry Sellers ran back to his position shaking his head. Mohammad Norwood made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kerry Sellers in the 71st minute. C. A. Independiente were awarded a corner in the 74th minute after Los Fresnos AFC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Tommie Bolton took the corner. In the 76th minute, Saul Tharp hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mohammad Norwood made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tommie Bolton in the 77th minute. Braulio Bordat fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Farid Mondragón having to interfere. After some careless play in the Los Fresnos AFC defense, Kerry Sellers kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mohammad Norwood. The Los Fresnos AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mohammad Norwood should have stopped the shot. Mohammad Norwood took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kerry Sellers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Los Fresnos AFC booed when C. A. Independiente was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erberk Müftüoğlu didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 95 minutes, Kerry Sellers put it in 3-3 from a short distance just to the right of Mohammad Norwood. C. A. Independiente were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
