Mohamed Bouguerra came out and tried to block the shot, but Yasmina Yahia slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 5th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mustapha Al-Jazairia during the 7th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Mustapha Al-Jazairia hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. JAMHURIYA's Juan Cordarrol managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Moulay Bedjaoui in the 9 minute of the game. After 11 minutes of play, Chapel Hill's Mustapha Al-Jazairia made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mohamed Bouguerra was left in no man's land by his defense there! With his leg Mohamed Bouguerra managed to avoid a goal in the 14thth minute, when Chapel Hill's Mustapha Al-Jazairia fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Through an outstanding action, after 15 minutes, Mohamed Bouguerra successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Ahmed Bencherif hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Artemio Nikola kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. A collision led to JAMHURIYA getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Juninho Peixoto hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tedj Ben Khalidi got free with Mohamed Bouguerra in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. JAMHURIYA's Mohamed Bouguerra proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save JAMHURIYA from getting a goal against them. After 30 minutes of play, Chapel Hill's Yasmina Yahia made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mohamed Bouguerra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yasmina Yahia in the 35th minute of the match. Mohamed Bouguerra was out of position in the 36 minute of play, and Yasmina Yahia capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Yasmina Yahia really showed his touch with that goal: 4-0. Chapel Hill's Moulay Bedjaoui got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mohamed Bouguerra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yasmina Yahia in the 40th minute of play. In the 43rd minute Juninho Peixoto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Madhi Djamel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 46 minutes into the match, Mustapha Al-Jazairia notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of JAMHURIYA's Mohamed Bouguerra. Mohamed Bouguerra was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Juninho Peixoto to make the kick off. Mohamed Bouguerra came out of the goal and Halim Firoud tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 70th minute, Chapel Hill's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Juninho Peixoto fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After a rather tough play, JAMHURIYA's Fouad Benflis got a free kick in the 75th minute. Mohamed Bouguerra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mustapha Al-Jazairia in the 77th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mustapha Al-Jazairia in the 84th minute of play forced JAMHURIYA's goalkeeper Mohamed Bouguerra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 85th match minute, JAMHURIYA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juninho Peixoto to maneuver through the defense. In the 87th minute the ball was on its way in behind Chapel Hill's goalkeeper Madhi Djamel, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Chapel Hill getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Halim Firoud hit a great ball. The supporters of JAMHURIYA booed when Chapel Hill was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ahmed Bencherif didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 94th minute Halim Firoud shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mohamed Bouguerra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. JAMHURIYA's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
