Émilien Arrington made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Émilien Arrington made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lothaire Maddox in the 8th minute of play. Lothaire Maddox received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Émilien Arrington tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Galatic Dragons's Alessandro Vierchowod was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 14th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Sven Van Ghele showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Martin Kühne, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Murray Schmitz in the 32nd minute of play forced Galatic Dragons's goalkeeper Émilien Arrington to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Club Atlético Lanús's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Garfield Watson in the 33rd minute. A nice corner shot did that Garfield Watson got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Émilien Arrington quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. When Club Atlético Lanús's Lothaire Maddox in the 35th minute got a chance for a shot 35th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Galatic Dragons's goalie prevented a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Sidney Cavazos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Atlético Lanús's supporters rose to their feet, but Sidney Cavazos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Émilien Arrington breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Émilien Arrington made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lothaire Maddox in the 40th minute of play. In the 41st minute, Hong Copeland hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 42nd minute of the match Franklyn Nelson shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sven Van Ghele showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Rodrick Christiansen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 47th minute, Club Atlético Lanús's Garfield Watson seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Garfield Watson the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Club Atlético Lanús protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Garfield Watson had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 48th match minute, Club Atlético Lanús was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Garfield Watson to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alessandro Vierchowod in the 49th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sven Van Ghele prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alessandro Vierchowod stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Émilien Arrington made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Liviu Liviu sent off a good shot on target. A hard shot 56 in the game by Lothaire Maddox from a close distance when the talented Émilien Arrington managed to make a qualified save. Galatic Dragons's players were relieved. The Club Atlético Lanús fans' excitement grew in the 57th match minute when Club Atlético Lanús's Lothaire Maddox looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 63rd minute, Liviu Liviu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 64 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Lanús's goal looked a bit too open when Alessandro Vierchowod came free, but Sven Van Ghele reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Galatic Dragons's Kaká van Beek was substituted for Alessandro Vierchowod. Lothaire Maddox who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 80thth minute tested the skills of Émilien Arrington when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Hong Copeland sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Club Atlético Lanús's Hong Copeland slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Émilien Arrington. That made the score 1-4 after 84 minutes of play. If Lothaire Maddox had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Liviu Liviu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Atlético Lanús's supporters rose to their feet, but Liviu Liviu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lothaire Maddox could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Émilien Arrington made a huge save. When the final whistle sounded Club Atlético Lanús left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Galatic Dragons.
