Pascal Som hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. In the 14th minute, Tomás Moita ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sven Van Ghele was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. A collision led to Biervliet getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Bart Pik hit a great ball. In the 18th minute Édouard Bacon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rob Kort saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sven Van Ghele showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomás Moita, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Rob Kort made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lothaire Maddox in the 21st minute. After 24 minutes of play, Biervliet's Ab van Zwam made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sven Van Ghele was left in no man's land by his defense there! Liviu Liviu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Rob Kort made a huge save. Biervliet's Rob Kort played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lothaire Maddox in the 31st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ab van Zwam in the 35th minute of play forced Club Atlético Lanús's goalkeeper Sven Van Ghele to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lothaire Maddox fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rob Kort having to interfere. Club Atlético Lanús's Lothaire Maddox pulled a muscle in his back after 42 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Club Atlético Lanús made a substitution. Rodrick Christiansen replaced Lothaire Maddox. In the 44th minute of the match Édouard Bacon shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rob Kort showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The supporters of Biervliet booed when Club Atlético Lanús was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diego Simeone didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Club Atlético Lanús's Édouard Bacon got a free kick in the 47th minute.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rodrick Christiansen to make the kick off. Pascal Som kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Club Atlético Lanús's Sven Van Ghele played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ab van Zwam in the 54th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rodrick Christiansen in the 56th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rob Kort prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Rob Kort came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by Club Atlético Lanús's Sidney Cavazos. But to his dismay, Sidney Cavazos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Rob Kort showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rodrick Christiansen, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. In the 66thth minute of the game Rodrick Christiansen who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Biervliet's Rob Kort was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Florian Deuring kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Henry Bakker hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Sven Van Ghele showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomás Moita, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. When Club Atlético Lanús's Rodrick Christiansen in the 81st minute got a chance for a shot 81st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Biervliet's goalie prevented a goal. In the 86th minute, Biervliet's Edgar Merenga dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-3. In the 92nd match minute, Club Atlético Lanús was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Diego Simeone to maneuver through the defense. Henry Bakker kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. The Biervliet players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
