After taking down the ball on KARA ☪ KARTAL's corner Edgar Ray fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Hoyt Cormier quite easily take care of the ball. After some careless play in the Fenerbahçe S.K. defense, Antonio Macchia kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hoyt Cormier. The Fenerbahçe S.K. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hoyt Cormier should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Fenerbahçe S.K. getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Qiao Qi Bo hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jefferey Cox in the 17th minute of play forced Fenerbahçe S.K.'s goalkeeper Hoyt Cormier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Fenerbahçe S.K. getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Charlie Blevins hit a great ball. Hoyt Cormier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antonio Macchia in the 24th minute of play. After 29 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for KARA ☪ KARTAL! When the match had been going on for 31 minutes, Fenerbahçe S.K.'s Vadim Izvoreanu got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Junior Zoff. In the 35th minute, Antonio Macchia made a precise shot to the right of Hoyt Cormier. Fenerbahçe S.K.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Hoyt Cormier took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antonio Macchia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Xiao Yun Jun sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 46 minutes into the game, Gilberto Fremont recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Junior Zoff. Gilberto Fremont showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-2. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Antonio Macchia to make the kick off. Remond Oosterveld came free with the goalkeeper in the 52nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Hoyt Cormier could save by the left post. After 53 minutes Fenerbahçe S.K.'s defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Edgar Ray who took care of the corner kick. 54 minutes into the match, KARA ☪ KARTAL's goal looked a bit too open when Xiao Yun Jun came free, but Junior Zoff reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Antonio Macchia managed to get in a good position for a shot. KARA ☪ KARTAL's supporters rose to their feet, but Antonio Macchia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hoyt Cormier breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. KARA ☪ KARTAL made a substitution. Bernardo Fay replaced Edgar Ray. Chung Post fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hoyt Cormier having to interfere. 67 minutes into the match, KARA ☪ KARTAL's goal looked a bit too open when Xiao Yun Jun came free, but Junior Zoff reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
