One of NDG Fury FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Toronto Marlies FC:s goal. Theron Dooley went to the wrong direction when Gavino Aguirre was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. After a defensive mix-up in NDG Fury FC's zone, Gavino Aguirre stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Theron Dooley came out of the goal and Gavino Aguirre tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Anfilogino Amicone made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mårten Arenstedt in the 24th minute of play. In the 31st minute John England shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Theron Dooley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, NDG Fury FC's Collin Ramsey got a free kick in the 34th minute. NDG Fury FC's Theron Dooley played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by John England in the 38th minute of play. Theron Dooley showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gavino Aguirre, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Toronto Marlies FC's Anfilogino Amicone proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save Toronto Marlies FC from getting a goal against them. Theron Dooley made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gavino Aguirre in the 44th minute of play.

A sloppy throw-in by Collin Ramsey in the 52nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Toronto Marlies FC's Ernesto Nafarroa. Ómar Sharif kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Gavino Aguirre kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Theron Dooley. That made the score 0-2 in the 65 minute of play. Toronto Marlies FC's Daniel Passarelli was substituted for Gino Goldstein. NDG Fury FC made a substitution. Benjamin Davies replaced Chauncey Veilleux. NDG Fury FC's Jimeno Barea was substituted for Telesphore Diamond. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mårten Arenstedt in the 70th minute of play forced Toronto Marlies FC's goalkeeper Anfilogino Amicone to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 73 minutes into the game, NDG Fury FC's Mårten Arenstedt nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Anfilogino Amicone made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Gavino Aguirre took the ball and in the 78 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Theron Dooley. Theron Dooley dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. 83 minutes into the game, Toronto Marlies FC's Gavino Aguirre nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Theron Dooley made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. Fredrick Abrams's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Theron Dooley read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 90th minute of play. Theron Dooley made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fredrick Abrams in the 92nd minute of play. NDG Fury FC's Maurice Bler quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Tyson Renaud, made in the 93rd minute of the game. Theron Dooley was out of position in the 96 minute of play, and Fredrick Abrams capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Fredrick Abrams really showed his touch with that goal: 1-5. When the final whistle sounded Toronto Marlies FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than NDG Fury FC.
