The tension between the Sporting Cristal and the Real Potosí players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Real Potosí booed when Sporting Cristal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cipriano Abeita didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sporting Cristal were furious when Sedeni Abellaneda was red carded, 42 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 42 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Sporting Cristal! When the match had been going on for 44 minutes, Real Potosí's Baldemer Camarasa got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Gonzalo Berdugo. Gonzalo Berdugo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bela Abeitia in the 47th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fernando Abar to strike the kick off in the second half. Gonzalo Berdugo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bela Abeitia in the 51st minute of the match. Gilen Abeitia made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Mino Abellaneda sent off a good shot on target. Fernando Abar hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Real Potosí's Savion Abellaneda was substituted for Baldemer Camarasa. Real Potosí's Filipo Abancens was substituted for Cilio Abeita. In the 74th match minute, Sporting Cristal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fernando Abar to maneuver through the defense. In the 83rd minute, Bela Abeitia made a precise shot to the right of Gonzalo Berdugo. Sporting Cristal's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. Sporting Cristal's Gonzalo Berdugo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marques Abenda in the 87th minute of play. 90 minutes into the match, Real Potosí's goal looked a bit too open when Fernando Abar came free, but Gilen Abeitia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ezequiel Palacios recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 96 minutes into the game, Real Potosí's Bela Abeitia nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gonzalo Berdugo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. Sporting Cristal's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
